Critiques
The distance from the narrow patch of light in the center works great against the constricting alleyway. The brown tones compliment just about everything in the photo and gives it a really 'old-timish' feeling (this photo reminds me of tenements during the early 1900s) that really adds on to the mood. Looking at this photo, I can almost imagine myself in it, in the dark, and gazing at the light.
And, I think the people standing off to the side are just perfect.
One thing I would do differently is lower the luminosity of the building in the center to give it a more realistic look.
I don't think there's anything wrong with the current angle, but I wouldn't mind seeing this taken off to the side from a worms-eye-view.
But, like I mentioned before, I really like this photo.
